Terms of Service

These are the Terms of Service for VoteGOAT ("VoteGOAT", "we", "us"). By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the service, you agree to everything below.

1. The service

VoteGOAT is a second-screen companion for reality television and similar programming. It lets you rate episodes, score cast members on drama / outfits / behavior, post short hot-take notes timestamped to what you're watching, place virtual prediction wagers, and join fantasy leagues with other viewers. Predictions and leagues are scored in non-redeemable virtual points — there is no cash, no prize pool, and no real-money wagering of any kind. The service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 years oldto create an account or use the service. Users in jurisdictions that set a higher age of majority must meet that local minimum. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has signed up, email support@votegoat.appand we'll remove the account.
You can sign up with email + password, or via a supported OAuth provider (currently GitHub). The same Terms apply either way.
You agree to provide accurate information, not impersonate another person, and keep your credentials private. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms — including for harassment, doxxing, scraping, or attempts to manipulate aggregate scores.
You can delete your account at any time from the Delete account page in your profile. Your account row and all personally-identifiable rows we store about you (ratings, notes, points entries, prediction wagers, fantasy memberships) are removed immediately via cascading delete; anonymized aggregates derived before deletion may persist (see §5).

3. What you contribute

When you submit a rating, score, hot-take note, prediction, or timestamp ("Contributions"), you keep ownership of what you wrote. Nothing you post here is re-assigned to us. Show, episode, and cast metadata shown alongside your Contributions is supplied by third-party catalog providers (e.g. TMDB) and remains theirs.

4. Acceptable use

VoteGOAT is built around opinions about real people on television. Strong opinions are the point — but a few hard lines:

No harassment, hate speech, threats, or attacks based on protected characteristics, whether aimed at other users or at cast members.
No defamatory factual claims about cast or crew. State opinions as opinions; don't invent crimes, illnesses, or affairs they didn't disclose on the show.
No doxxing or sharing of private contact information for users, cast, or crew.
No sexual content involving minors, no non-consensual intimate imagery, no incitement to violence.
No commercial spam, vote manipulation, scraping, or automated bulk posting. No reverse-engineering or interfering with the service.
Follow applicable law.

We may remove Contributions that violate this section and, in repeat or severe cases, terminate the account. If you believe a Contribution infringes your copyright or other rights, email support@votegoat.appwith the URL and a description of the issue and we'll review it promptly.

5. Data license you grant us

You grant VoteGOAT a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to host, store, reproduce, modify, adapt, translate, publish, and distribute your Contributions and the metadata around them (including scores, timestamps, and any optional demographic information you chose to provide), including:

In aggregated and anonymized form, for commercial purposes, such as reports and data products sold to brand, network, production, and talent-agency partners. No individual user is identifiable in these outputs.
In the product itself, for example showing your hot take next to other users' reactions on the episode page.

If you delete your account, the underlying Contributions (ratings, notes, wagers, etc.) are removed from the live product immediately. The license above survives deletion solely with respect to aggregated, anonymized outputs we produced before you deleted — we have no way to recall copies already delivered to partners.

6. Demographic data

Demographic fields (birth year, gender, country, region, postal code) are optional. You can change or remove any of them later. We use them only to produce aggregated, anonymized segmentation — we don't sell data tied to your name, email, or account id.

7. Disclaimers and liability

VoteGOAT is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee uninterrupted access, and we don't endorse the views in any user Contribution. To the maximum extent permitted by law, VoteGOAT's aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months (which, for free accounts, is US $0) or US $100.

8. Changes to the Terms

If we materially change these Terms, we'll ask you to accept the new version before you can continue using the service. Continued use after a non-material update constitutes acceptance. You can review prior versions on request.
